About Me

I am a simple country girl, trying to live the fullest life I can. I love life and all it has to offer and can't wait for the next adventure to come my way. I love to create with my hands, quilting and sewing being my favorite hobby of many.

Will I got another baby quilt made. Not sure what I am going to do with this one. I may try to sell it and make a little extra $$$ or I may keep it back for a gift at some point. Anyway I really enjoyed working on this but then again any time I get to spend in my sewing room is wonderful.

I love the color combination that I used in this quilt. The light green and pink looks so cute together and the little frogs jumping all over just top it off.

Now it is time to get started on another one. My next challenge is to make a replica of my mama's orginial pattern of a appliqued/block baby quilt. Every grandchild has one and great grandchild and many other babies have had the pleasure of recieving them. Hope I can fulfill this pattern justice.

My little corner of dirt!!

I got my garden going! Love it! Love it! There is nothing better than to feel the earth between your fingers and toes as you work it to grow your own means of substance. I started off just planting a couple of tomaote plants and a squash plant and zuchinni plant, but as I watched them grow, my excitement built so now I have sweet corn, watermelon, collard greens, cabbage, spinach, basil, sweet peas, summer squash, green beans, cucumbers, potatoes and more tomatoes. It is a joy every day for me to get to work the ground, water and tend to my little corner of dirt.

I got a job!!!!

I finally got a job. I have been so depressed cause I could't find a job. I have never had such a hard time find work outside of the house. It has been crazy. I swear I probably filled out over 50 applications. Anyway!!!!! I finally got a JOB! I start tomorrow. I will be working at JoAnn Fabrics. I am so excited. I love to sew and craft so it is the perfect place. Now the key is to not spend all my hard earned money on craft supplies.

Lovely weekend with my baby boy!

Spent the weekend with my baby boy! Oh I know my dear daughter is in the pic also, but I spend everyday with her, so it was an extra treat to have them both with me all weekend. he lives about 4 hours south of me, so I only get to see him about once a month.

A purse in 10 minutes or less!!!!

I took a placemat, and folded it in half. I then sewed the sides up and squared the bottom off. Added a velcro strip to the top on the inside and dug through my stash of thrift store belts and made a handle. Here is the results.

I got busy today!

I'm finally getting my sewing room together. When we moved into the new house, I didn't have a room for my sewing, so my loving husband got me a portable building to put in the back yard, just for my sewing. It works out great. It is a very nice building. It still needs some drywall and an A/C unit, but it works great for what I need it for.
So that being said, I got some things made today. I got a baby quilt finished today. With moving an all it was put on the back burner but finally got it finished. It turned out really cute and can't wait to give it to the new bundle of joy.

I also made a table cloth out of some garden material that I had been given by an old customer at my old job. I put it on the table that we have sitting on our front porch. We actually have been using this table quite a bit. Have been using the whole front porch, more like an additional room instead of just a porch.

Below is a pic of some pillows that I got sewed together and stuffed today also. I think they look really good sitting on the Ol' Antique Chair that I picked up at an estate sale a few months back.

I had a good day today! Very productive and very relaxing. Hopefully I can get back out to my Sewing Shed again tomorrow.

Living close to the Big City!

I have always been a country girl, I grew up on a Produce Farm in NE Ohio and then moved to a small little town in Southern Florida. I have always been the type of person to stay as far from a city, any city as I could. Will since moving things have had to change for me. We still live in the country. Actually in the middle of the Ocala National Forest, but only 10 miles from the border of the city of Ocala. This has given me the opportunity to open my eyes to a whole new world. With this change I plan on taking more photographs of the architecure around me and the different people that I have seen and encountered on my trips into the city. I am looking forward to new and exciting adventures in my new life.

New Beginnings!!!

New Start! New Beginnings! Life is good!

Will yet again I have been MIA for awhile. Life has been a huge turmoil, but hopefully it is finally coming together.

While being MIA, I have been able to take my girls to some local places and take some photo's of them. It had been a very long time since I had done this, so we made a day of it and had a blast. Here is a few pics that I took on our day out.

This one to the right is my baby girl. The toes curled and all, really shows some of her personality.

This second pic is of my daughter, Lizz and my step daughter, Trish, playing in the water at the Cascade Professional Building in Ocala, FL. This office complex is so cool. The water and water fall is the roof of offices. The next pic, which is just below is an overall view of The Cascades.
